Benefit Binge!

Last week, I was invited for a Benefit make over and pamper evening with 30% off all products and a cheeky glass of champagne! As you can imagine, a few accidents happened as a result! Thankfully, these very naughty splurges were evened out by the arrival of my student loan this week.

So, I've been using these products for a few days now and thought it was time to let you all know what my must haves are at the moment!

the POREfessional- £24.50

First up is the Porefessional pro balm. I use this after I've moisturised and before applying my foundation, and it makes sure my make up stays all day. Essentially it is a primer and I've been on the look out for a good one recently so this was a good find. The liquid itself is actually translucent when you blend it into your skin, but I have done a quick swatch for you just so you can see what it looks like. The texture is almost powdery when you rub it in and it just feels really nice and light. There isn't really a smell to it, it just has quite a clean and fresh scent which is what you want from that sort of product. It really helped even my skin tone out and made my make up last pretty well all night! Ideal for a night out, but also pretty great to wear instead of foundation if you are having a good skin day.

Girl Meets Pearl- £24.50

Next, I got hold of the Girl Meets Pearl 'liquid pearl', basically it's an illuminator, a little like High Beam but a bit more pink. I'm pretty sure this one in particular is more aimed at evening make up, but it's a great product nonetheless. It feels quite light and you don't need very much of it at all, just pat it over anywhere you think could do with illuminating and you'll look a good 5 times more awake than you actually are, which is a bonus considering a lot of you are probably in the middle of Freshers Week at the moment! If you want more of a day version, That Gal is also a pretty good one, but I just preferred this colour. Bit of a trick they taught me during the make over- mix this with your blusher on the back of your hand and it stays a lot longer!

They're Real! Twin Pack- £19.50

As I have mentioned before, I am a dedicated follower of Bad Gal Lash mascara. Being such a fan, it is easy to forget that they actually do another mascara, They're Real. Now, I don't know about you but I got very, very, very excited when I saw that they were doing a little gift pack, including a full size mascara and a travel size, together for the price of just the one full size product. So I can now have one in my make up bag and one in my handbag in case I need to touch up. Having said that, the main thing I have found with this mascara is that it never needs touching up. It is both a blessing and a curse. The mascara is amazing in terms of lengthening lashes and lasting all day but it's a complete pain when it comes to removing it. It can be done, fear not, but you will need to be a little less lazy with your make up removal/ skin care regime and actually use a facial cleanser and a specialist eye make up remover. That's the only downside and I have already forced 2 of my friends to buy the same set.

Bella Bamba- £23.50

And my final naughty purchase was one I actually had no intention of buying until it was used on me during my make over. Bella Bamba is not the most attractively boxed blusher in my opinion, in fact I would say it was the packaging that put me off ever considering it before. When you compare it to the likes of Hervana it is pretty ugly, but the blusher itself is a lovely, almost rose gold colour with amazing illumination properties. You don't need too much as it is pretty pigmented but a light sweeping over the apples of your cheeks will give you all the colour you need. The new style boxes also come with a flip lid and mirror instead of the old lift off ones which is a nice touch as well. The best thing about benefit blushers: if you use them right, they will last absolutely ages, and I mean ages. I bought my Coralista blusher in a gift box in the sale a good 3 years ago and there was still some left when I threw it away at the beginning of this year! Great investment products, but do get the make up artists to try the colours on you first, just in case!

And thus concludes my very naughty, but comepletely essential (right?) Benefit purchases. I would like to point out, I have included the orginal prices, without any discount, but I did get 30% off most of these. Oh and before I leave you, a little tip I didn't know before, always ask at a Benefit counter if they do student discount! The House of Fraser in Guildford, where I live at the moment does 10% S/D which makes all the difference with these products!

As ever, comments are always exciting to get and the usual social media hubub is still at the top of the page, so give them all a little look and like this blog on Facebook if you enjoyed this post!

Just so you know, most of my posts for the near future are likely to be beauty related, I have a bit of an addiction at the moment, but any ideas are always appreciated and well received!

Have you used any of these? What's your favourite Benefit product?
Hope you are all okay!
